Publication Ethics Guidelines

The Malaysian Journal of Clinical Biochemistry (MJCB) is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics. Authors, reviewers, and editors are expected to adhere to the following guidelines to ensure the integrity and credibility of the scholarly content published in our journal.

Authorship and Originality

  1. Authors should ensure that their submitted work is original and has not been published elsewhere.
  2. All listed authors must have made significant contributions to the research and agree to the final version of the manuscript.
  3. Acknowledgment of sources and proper citation must be provided for any work that has influenced the research or writing of the manuscript.

Conflicts of Interest

  1. Authors are required to disclose any potential conflicts of interest that may influence the interpretation or evaluation of their work.
  2. Reviewers and editors should also declare any conflicts of interest and recuse themselves from handling a manuscript if necessary.

Review Process

  1. Reviewers should conduct objective and constructive evaluations of submitted manuscripts, providing feedback to improve the quality of the work.
  2. Editors are responsible for making fair and unbiased decisions based on the merit of the manuscript, without discrimination.

Plagiarism and Ethical Misconduct

  1. Authors must ensure that their work is free from plagiarism and has not been submitted simultaneously to other publications.
  2. Any form of research misconduct, including fabrication or falsification of data, will not be tolerated.

Data Access and Retention

  1. Authors should be prepared to provide raw data related to their manuscript for editorial review if requested.
  2. All parties involved in the publication process should retain original data for a reasonable period after publication.

Correction and Retraction

  1. Authors are obligated to promptly correct errors or inaccuracies discovered in their published work.
  2. If errors are identified post-publication, the journal may issue a correction or, in severe cases, retract the article.
